Why a Pediatric Dentist?
The difference between a pediatric dentist and a family dentist or general dentist who sees kids hinges on education and experience in dealing with and treating the oral healthcare issues of children, from infants through their teenage years. A general dentist typically completes an undergraduate degree, then goes on to complete four years of dental school to become a dentist, Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD). In order to become a pediatric dentist, a general dentist must then complete a minimum of 2 years of full-time residency training in all manners of pediatric dentistry and surgery.

The Interior Girl: Katie Cummins
Tell us a little bit about you! I am an Interior Designer. Coming from a modest background and being the youngest of four girls, I learned very quickly how to turn trash into treasure. I discovered garage sales, flea markets and thrift stores were full of priceless pieces that would make any room tell a story and feel unique. I took this early knowledge and refined it with a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design and became a Registered Interior Designer with the Texas Board of Architectural Examiners. That accompanied with 14 years of industry experience in commercial, corporate, retail and residential design has molded me into the designer I am today.
