Meet Rachael Lamont, the newest member of the Frisco Area Moms Team! I could not be more thrilled to not only introduce you to this sweet mama, but also grateful to have Rachael be a part of this growing community. Get to know Rachael below:
Tell us a little bit about you!
Hi Friends! My name is Rachael and I have lived in Frisco for just under 4 years! I am from Vero Beach, FL and have had the opportunity to live in Arizona, North Carolina, and now the great state of Texas! I love spending time with my family, almost any outdoor activity, girl’s nights, exercising, and dining out! I work full time with Favor Delivery and also have my Master’s Degree in Functional Nutrition and will take on clients from time to time. I am always up for an adventure and LOVE to meet new friends!
How many kids do you have and what are their ages?
I have 2 daughters! My oldest is turning 4 in October and my youngest is 13 months. I also have a fur baby that is 12.
What’s your favorite thing about being a mom?
My favorite thing about being a mom is seeing the world through my children’s eyes. The innocence and wonder they see is truly beautiful and something I am so grateful I get to “relive” through them. Lots of snuggles would be my favorite second thing!
How did you end up in Frisco area?
We moved to Frisco for my husband’s job. He is a Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Texas Rangers Double-A affiliate the Frisco RoughRiders!
What do you love about Frisco area?
There is so much to love about Frisco! The endless dining options and kid’s activities would be at the top of my list! There is always something fun to do which keeps every day fresh and fun!
What’s your favorite restaurant in Frisco area?
I have so many favorites in Frisco depending on the mood I am in, but I would say Eight11 Place in Frisco is my favorite! I love their outdoor area with the fire pit tables (especially in Fall, hello S’mores!) and the live music plus the food and drinks are amazing.
What’s your favorite place to shop in Frisco area?
Willow House in downtown McKinney is adorable. Shops at Legacy in Plano, and Home Goods (of course) in Frisco.
What’s your favorite thing to do when you need some “me time”?
My favorite “me time” involves exercise of some sort; whether it’s a walk outdoors with my dog, yoga, or a workout class either with Peloton or Body Machine Fitness.
Tell us about your career.
I work as an Account Executive with Favor Delivery in the North Texas area. It’s a high energy, fun, sales position that gives me the opportunity to get to know restaurant owners in my region and help market their business! It has been such a blessing to my family and I, and is something I genuinely enjoy doing as I love meeting new people and building long-term relationships with those I meet!
What do you love about your career?
The best part is getting to meet business owners and watching their business grow just by being featured on our delivery app! Happy clients are so rewarding!
What is one thing you look forward to every year?
This is going to sound silly but Halloween! Halloween has always been my favorite holiday growing up and being from Florida we never had “seasons” so living in Texas getting to experience Fall, a real October, and Halloween in a true “what you see on TV” style is so much fun!
How do you juggle your career with being a mom and wife?
“Balance” is something that does not come naturally to me. I always feel that one “department” of my life gets more attention than the rest and its ever changing daily. Something that I have found that helps carve out time to juggle mom-life, being a wife, and being career focused: is setting time expectations and mini goals for myself to help find balance with all areas of my life. It’s not always perfect and doesn’t always work, but it is something I can do daily to help find balance!
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve gotten from another mom?
The best piece of advice was something every mom has most likely heard: “don’t blink.” This has stuck with me and is a constant reminder that these precious moments and days are fleeting and that our babies are growing up right before our eyes. On the hard days I remind myself of that simple phrase and it (sometimes) helps lessen the tough times and reminds me to focus on the present and all the good motherhood comes with.
What’s one fun fact about you?
At a previous position I had when we lived in Miami, it afforded me the opportunity to be in NYC for a few weeks during the US Open and attend it daily – some of the guests that we had in the suite were Justin Timberlake, Alec Baldwin, Jimmy Fallon, Jill Zarin, Serena William’s mom and more, so needless to say it was a very fun experience!
What are you excited about with Joining the Frisco Area Mom’s Team:
I am SO excited to be joining Frisco Area Moms! Since becoming a mom four years ago, I wanted to be a part of a community of incredible, strong, and supportive moms and I have definitely found that group within Frisco Area Moms! The community that supports FAM is wonderful and I can’t wait to share this journey of mommyhood with each and every one of you! I am looking forward to meeting as many moms in our community as possible and making new friends along the way!
